Forum Title: Where do you cut corners to save time and money?
Just looking for things I haven't thought of to speed up and save a step or two where I can. It seems quite a few commercial painters skip primer altogether, and go with flat or eggshel on bare drywall. Other crews use forced air jet heaters to do spec houses in a day by cook drying. Some spray absolutely everything and never touch a brush. What are your favorites?

Use cardboard instead of dropcloths. Cardboard is free, it's fast, it's clean, and it doesn't have to be washed because you just throw it away at the end of the job. Didn't get much paint on it? Good, then you can recycle it for free! As for the guys that don't prime bare drywall...all it does is drive down the whole industry. Not very noble at all.
